tiger run

After a 5-year hiatus, the Tiger Run returned with a day of friendly competition and celebration honoring the amazing student-run organizations at LSU Health New Orleans. All proceeds gathered from the event go directly towards the LSUHSC School of Medicine’s charitable student organizations to fund their community service activities. Funding helps us stock medical supplies for the Student Run Community Clinics, provide activities for the kids of The New Orleans Women and Children Shelter Outreach Program, and so much more!

Camp tiger

Camp Tiger invites children between the ages of 6-15 years old in the New Orleans, Northshore, Baton Rouge and Lower Parish metropolitan areas who are physically and/or mentally challenged to join us for a week-long day summer camp. We especially welcome those children who are unable to attend other camps available for special needs children.
Who staffs the camp?
The camp is organized and staffed by current first year medical students of the LSUHSC School of Medicine in New Orleans. We also invite the incoming first year class of medical students to assist as counselors during camp. There are two medical students for every camper.
How much does it cost?
The camp is free of charge for eligible children.
ASDA Smile Train

In honor of World Smile Day, LSU ASDA raised money for the Smile Train. Smile Train is an international children’s charity committed to providing access to safe, high-quality comprehensive cleft care to everyone.
Each lip/cleft palate surgery costs ~$250, and their goal this year was to fund two surgeries to forever change a young child’s life. Thanks to supporters, they were able to raise $1,500 for this amazing organization, which will help sponsor 6 cleft surgeries! LSU ASDA strives to keep changing the world, one smile at a time!
